Course: LIS 4910 – Information Technology Project As part of a capstone team in LIS 4910, I contributed to the redesign of Florida State University’s Campus Rec app, aiming to improve how students, staff, and community members access fitness and wellness services. The existing system was fragmented across multiple platforms, making it difficult for users to register for classes, manage memberships, or use gym facilities efficiently. Our redesigned prototype offers a unified, intuitive experience across web and mobile platforms. Key features include a customizable user profile, an interactive weekly class calendar, in-app purchases (for services like personal training and locker rentals), and a streamlined class registration system. We also implemented a student feedback tool to help Campus Rec respond to user needs over time. This project placed a strong emphasis on project management—we used Jira to manage tasks and sprint planning, created Gantt charts for timeline tracking, and collaborated closely with stakeholders through each development phase. While the prototype is largely complete, final work is focused on optimizing backend functionality and security before full rollout.
